CIRCUS MAGNET RESIDENTS PARTY

My first flyer of 2011 and thought I’d have a little fun with this one!

For my recent Circus flyers I have taken assets associated with the club, such as the dj’s, built the flyers by hand and then photographed them for the front of the flyer.

Every January, Circus host their intimate residents party in a smaller Liverpool venue.  This year the party is being held in Liverpool's coolest underground club, ‘The Magnet’ on Hardman Street.  The club has an iconic stage at one end of the dance floor so I thought it would be a fun idea to photograph the stage and rebuild it in my current montage style.  The stage design features the ‘Funktion-one’ sound system from the club and one of Liverpool’s oldest buildings, ‘India Buildings’ which was designed by Robert Rowse.

Instead of using plain or coloured surroundings to photograph the stage like I’ve done with my more recent pieces, I went in search of a location that would bring the piece to life.  I found exactly the right place on the surface of my kitchen table!
